Hongqi Tiangong 05 and 06: 12-minute fast charging and prices starting from $23,900

The Chinese brand Hongqi has introduced updated versions of the Tiangong 05 and Tiangong 06 models, both built on an 800-volt architecture. The main feature is ultra-fast charging: from 10% to 80% in 12 minutes.

The base version of the Tiangong 05 is priced from 171,800 yuan (around $23,900) and offers up to 650 km of range on the CLTC cycle. The larger Tiangong 06 crossover starts from 191,800 yuan (around $26,500) and offers around 610 km of range.

Both models are built on the same platform and support a V2L function with up to 6 kW of power, allowing the car to be used as a power supply for external devices.

The Tiangong 05 is a sedan around 4,820 mm in length, with power ranging from 339 to 610 HP depending on the version. The Tiangong 06 is a crossover around 4,750 mm long, with the same architecture and AWD in higher trims.

The main emphasis is on the price-to-technology ratio. The ability to charge the battery in 12 minutes puts these models on par with the most advanced solutions on the market.

Hongqi is gradually moving away from the image of a niche premium brand and entering the mass EV segment. Based on the specifications, the focus is not on status, but on real technological advantages.
