Honda has announced a large-scale recall campaign in the United States following an official directive from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In total, 880,514 vehicles across several popular SUV, pickup truck, and crossover segments are affected.
The recall involves a number of key models, including the Honda Pilot, Honda Passport, Honda Ridgeline, and the premium Acura MDX. Engineers have identified a potentially serious defect in the rear suspension structure. Under prolonged use and heavy loads, certain suspension components may develop structural failures, which could result in a sudden loss of vehicle control while driving.
Authorized Honda and Acura dealerships will inspect the affected vehicles free of charge. Technicians will examine the rear subframe for signs of cracking or damage and install additional steel reinforcement components where required. All repair costs, including parts and labor, will be fully covered by the manufacturer.
